We are so proud of of our members for every step and every milestone reached, no matter how big or small. We help our members set their fitness goals, and we will do everything we can to motivate and encourage them reach those goals. They work hard inside and outside the gym, and we are thrilled to share their victories!
Where do I even begin? I have always loved going to the gym since I was 18 years old. I went for many years while I was living in Massachusetts. I moved to the Capital Region in 1989 and then everything fell apart. I lost my momentum. Two kids, divorce, deaths in the family etc. Needless to say I got heavy. I maxed out at 180 lbs and I was not happy with myself mentally and physically. Then a friend told me about Best Fitness was opening a gym on Central Avenue. I joined practically the moment the doors opened and have been a member since. I started out slowly working on my own then I met Tom Sokol and have been training with him weekly since March 2016. I have grown stronger and leaner over the months. Tom tests me all the time and provides encouragement. He always makes sure I am doing the exercises correctly so I do not hurt myself. He pushes me to levels to which I have never known before and I am always surprised at myself that I have been able to do these challenges. My core strength is at the best it is has ever been. I look forward to my weekly training. Tom is truly THE BEST. I also am faithful to Zumba, Body Pump, Body Combat, BFITT and CXW classes. I average 45 workouts monthly. I am a gym rat and will continue as long as I can. I am 55 years old and proud of my accomplishments to keep a lean, healthy and strong body.
