We help our members set their fitness goals, and we will do everything we can to motivate and encourage them reach those goals. In August 2016, my fiance and I moved to Lowell, MA into our first home. One of the first things I wanted to do after settling in was find a gym close by so I could try to get back into shape.
I was around 126 lbs and about 25% body-fat. My upper-body strength was... well... I didn't have any, and I could barely run a mile without dying.
When I first joined Best Fitness I decided to try out the Bfitt60 Group Training to make sure I had a scheduled class to attend, which would mean I was more likely to keep going. My first class, I died. I made it through the class, but when I got to the car I felt like I was going to throw-up. When I got home I barely made it up the stairs. But, here's the thing, the instructors for the class were awesome and the other members were super friendly. So slowly, I kept going. (Some context here... when it comes to my past and fitness classes/gyms, I usually only last a month or two before I stop going). I started going once or twice a week. This lasted for about 3-4 months. When I wasn't seeing the results I wanted, I stepped up my game and started going three to four times a week. As I became stronger, I knew just the Bfitt60 Group Training classes were not going to be enough. I decided to start working with one of my favorite Bfitt60. trainers, Mike, as a personal trainer. Mike not only helped me focus on the little things I needed to work on to make my workouts better, but he also made sure to give advice on my nutrition.
Over the past year I have met many of my goals thanks to Best Fitness and it's wonderful staff...I am now under 115 lbs. My Body-fat percentage is under 20%, I can do a pull-up (which was impossible before) and, I recently started running again! I recently ran for 2.4 miles without stopping, something I have never done before in my life!
I have a lot of new goals I am working on now and I know I can reach them in time with the support of Best Fitness.
